Terrace suspended on Milan

The Milan skyline is constantly growing and moving, just like the plants on this magnificent terrace with a panoramic view. In a lively neighborhood between Piazza della Repubblica and the Central Station it is possible to admire the city from above surrounded and protected by leaves and flowers for all seasons of the year. In addition to enhancing the wide view, the project focused on organizing outdoor spaces to spend almost all year moments in full outdoor living style. Living outdoors as much as possible was the request of the owners with whom we have defined and tailor-made a real outdoor kitchen furniture with a ‘pietra serena’ top, sink, cooking fires and barbecue. The large table hosts lunches and dinners ‘en plein air’ and is equipped with chairs and a wooden bench that has a planters with a border of scented aromatic officinal herbs on the back. The exposure in full sun and strong winds have led to the selection of the plants used for the terrace, Mediterranean evergreen shrubs of medium and small size which require little water but resistant to winter cold. To embellish the whole they have been planted perennial herbaceous plants of medium large size with prolonged flowering in rotation from the beginning of spring until late autumn. Behind the glass wall of the veranda, we have designed  a solarium bench on which to lie down to enjoy even the most intimate and hidden corner of this large Milanese terrace.
