Nature on the terrace

A few kilometers outside Milan make the difference. The view is on the park, the area is quiet and everything contributes to the perfect condition to relax in nature.The terrace we designed, before being a living space, is the main view you get from the large window in the living area of the house of Sabrina, Luca, Emma and Giorgia. Since the first inspection we decided  to project  a simple and minimal layout so as not to break the natural and pleasant continuity between the internal and external environment. We designed linear planters in cor-ten steel sheet making them custom-made by a skilled craftsman that made the material and chromatic effect desired by the client perfectly. The real project was to select the botanical essences to make nature present throughout the year from the first leaves that appear in spring, to the summer blooms, to the yellow and dry leaves of autumn and to the emptiness of the earth in the winter season. The request of the owners of the terrace was precisely to be able to observe the change of plants in all seasons, so as to never tire of a view that is always the same, but in constant motion and full of surprises. The shading system with two large sail awnings with automatic movement has been studied with great care to make the entire space protected from the sun and, if necessary, from rain. A large dining area with custom-designed benches was positioned in a point not too visible from inside the living room. Nearby we set up a piece of outdoor furniture in cor-ten steel which is a real aromatic garden for cooking, preparing infusions or cocktails. The playful aspect, particularly appreciated by children, was concentrated on two round rugs in soft synthetic grass on which they could lie down and play.
