HERBACEOUS PERENNIALS FOR A SHADE GARDEN

Inside a park it was realized, before the arrival of spring, the restyling of a small garden with sun exposure and shadow. A simple linear border of herbaceous perennials enlivens the rigor of the turf in the shelter of an existing  shrubs hedge. For the plant they were choosen variety of hardy perennials compatible with the exposure in complete shade for many hours of the day especially below of the trees. Their behavior is natural and the different blooms succeed from early spring until winter. Mini-Hosta collection with variegated leaves of all shades of light, dark and intense green, Geranium, Digitalis, Persicaria, Aquilegia, Dicentra, Helleborus and also a beautiful variety of Bletilla, an orchid for the garden that is resistant to cold winter temperatures. That are only some of the plants selected for this lively border that seems to come from the neighboring woods. On either side of the border there are two Gardenia grandiflora shrubs planted in terracotta pots, that dot the composition. The scent of gardenia flowers in late spring, sometimes repeated in the fall, along with the fragrance of Osmanthus and precious climbing Rosa Iceberg donate, in different seasons, a unique fragrance to this little corner of paradise. The garden is very well loved by butterflies and pollinating insects that in the spring and summer alight happy on flowers and leaves.
